The VX-X is an entry level version of Silver Peak's VXOA product family. It is a free, fully functional Silver Peak virtual appliance designed to make it easy and cost effective to deploy WAN optimization for single links up to 4Mbps.
The VX-X looks and feels just like the VX-1000 when optimizing a single WAN link. However, whereas the VX-1000 can talk to many different Silver Peak appliances and can be managed by Silver Peak's Global Management System (GMS), only 2 VX-X's can be deployed in a single network and they cannot be managed by GMS. In addition, support for the VX-X is handled exclusively via an online community.
